The ArmaLite AR-30M is similar in design to the innovative ArmaLite AR-50. With its fixed machine rest shaped stock and unique octagonal receiver, the AR-30M is ArmaLites most precise mid-caliber rifle. Available in 300 Winchester Magnum, 308 Winchester Magnum and 338 Lapua, the AR-30 is equipped with a triple lapped match grade barrel and is available with a 5 round magazine.

An excellent rifle. Very accurate out of the box. I like the .300 win mag version of this rifle because ammunition is readily available (unlike the .338 lapua version). It has a rugged construction and feels like it will last forever.

There are two downsides.

The first is that the rifle is very heavy. This can also be thought of as an upside because the rifle has very little recoil for such a large round.

The second downside is that a stock replacement is hard to come by. Armalite makes a custom AR-15 adapter, but these are pretty hard to get your hands on. Once you have the adapter, putting an aftermarket stock is limited by the long bolt throw.

I am personally ok with the factory stock that comes with this rifle. The eye relief puts my cheek right on the cheek rest.
