Great staff ,fast shipping. Been looking for a 45/70 in a Buffalo classic. Hinterland had a great price on this gun. Just holding on it is fun to shoot and has a good kick to her. Thanks.

I just purchased a used New England Firearms 45-70 Govt rifle. The rifle is solid, as yet have taken it to the range (just bought it yesterday). I am impressed with the fit and finish, quality of components, simplicity of design, and what a cartridge! I plan on fitting it with a Picatinny rail and plan on trying my holographic sight from my AR as well as my 3x9 illuminated scope from my AR. Will update my post after taking it to the range.

In my younger days, my neighbor, an old farmer, had a H&R shotgun, only believing in having just the things to get by, nothing more nothing less, He would let me shoot it now and then, and this is partly what got me interested in guns, The H&R was simple, durable, and the quality was there. Rocky wasn't much on words, but he didn't have to be when he always carried his H&R with him. It was rusty - a lot of nicks with simply sights, Back in the 1950's it would always put meat on the table. Over the years I've had a couple of H&R's. Now that H&R has come out with their target 45-70, I've just got to get one. "Make a new friend every day, but don't forget the old ones." H&R is an old friend.
