The Colt 1991 series is a direct descendant of the original Colt M1911. A long trigger, flat mainspring housing, and original style recoil spring system remain from the original M1911 design. The Series 80 Government pistols have a 5" barrel and feature high profile sights with dots, a lowered ejection port for extra reliability, a spur hammer, solid aluminum trigger, a standard safety lock, and a standard grip safety.

I think the Colt 1911 platform coupled with the 0.38 Super caliber is the perfect combination in power and control ability. The felt recoil is very comfortable and the round is extremely accurate. The 5" Government model brings the speed and hit for this round beautifully. The 0.38 Super is as close to having a 9-11 round .357 available and will not disappoint. Colt's quality in this Series 80 pistol is a huge factor, and I cannot emphasize enough, making this a bargain as well as an outstanding purchase of a fabulous sidearm.
Buy this beauty in confidence! You shan't be disappointed .
