The Columbia River Sting is hot forged making the knife very tough. Although they are very tough, low alloy steels do not have the rust resistance imparted by the chromium and nickel in stainless steels, so they apply a black non reflective powder coat finish to stop corrosion. The spear point blade features two razor sharp cutting edges. The integral handle is contoured to fit the bare or gloved hand nicely and provides heft and balance, with thumb detents for grip. A large lanyard hole is provided, allowing the use of a wrist lanyard, or carry as a neck knife.

This knife is the best!!!! The blade was as sharp as a razor when i first got it. I have owned one for over 5 years, the edge stayed sharp for at least 1 year with constant use. When it was time to sharpen I had to purchase a diamond carbide hone.
But that proves the strength of the blade. The only down side to the knife is the weight of the handle, it took some getting use to but turned out to add to the rigidness of the blade. I have used the tip to etch info. into other knives i own(i don't recommend this to anyone, it can hurt).
After years of use I'm not buying another to replace my old one but to give it as a gift to my son so i know that he will ALWAYS have a strong and sturdy knife.
I recommend this to anyone who wants a knife that will last longer then they will.
