Lewis Machine & Tool Company (LMT) was founded in 1980 to provide the US military, law enforcement and government agencies with high quality weapons, components, and modular weapon systems. Since the beginning, the LMT™ mission has been to meet their customer's expectations of quality, price and delivery of precision machined parts, weapon systems, assemblies and engineering services. In their thirty years of doing business in Milan, Illinois, LMT has always been environmentally responsible, as well as working to become an asset of their community while providing their employees with a rewarding and challenging work place.
LMT continues to serve the US military, law enforcement and government agencies, and has expanded to include foreign military services as well as commercial retailers. LMT's engineers design and fabricate complete weapon systems, grenade launchers, and Monolithic Rail Platform (MRP™) systems specifically for the demanding environments that the military and law enforcement face on a day-to-day basis whether in urban environments or in desert combat situations. LMT produces a full line of accessories and components for the commercial market complementing any M16 or AR15 type weapon.
In response to the growing demand for quick-change barrel systems, Karl Lewis, President of LMT, designed the Monolithic Rail Platform. The MRP™ upper receiver is a one-piece lightweight upper receiver with an integral forend. Mil-Std 1913 rails run from front to the forend on each of the four sides. The MRP™ receiver comes in two different lengths, one traditional rifle and the other for Close Quarter Battle (CQB). With four rails, the MRP™ system offers plenty of places for accessories such as optics and lights.
Lewis Machine & Tool Company recently qualified as a 2005 GSA supplier. As a US Government Services Administration (GSA) qualified vendor, LMT™ products are available to over 300,000 Federal users worldwide.

I love this rifle! I've only had it for four months now and have only got 600 rounds through it, but it always impresses me. Everything about this weapon screams quality.
Everything is tight, even the collapsible stock, no matter what position it's in. With the MRP platform there's two screws that "lock" the barrel in, loosen one, remove the other and the barrel pulls right out of the end of the receiver. Makes for a much easier time cleaning the weapon
Everything is built to mil-spec so you know you're not getting some m-fourgery look alike. I own multiple ARs but this ones my favorite and not just because it's the newest. The only one I liked better was the rifle the Marine Corps issued me. But there's no love affair quite like a Marine and his rifle.
