Purchased this rifle in mid-April after having first tried to purchase an Olympic arms AR15 on the HO website that was not legal in my state (Calif). Brett was very helpful in recommending the DB15B as an entry level AR. Shipment was prompt to my FFL dealer and Brett walked me through adjusting my "bullet button" once I received the gun and realized the mag release was out of adjustment. A little disappointed that I paid almost $200 more than this gun is sold for now at Hinterlands (hence 4 stars), but I guess that's what I get for buying in the middle of the frenzy. Added Magpul front and rear flip-up sights with Brett and then purchased a nice Bushnell red dot sight to help with my aging eyes. My first trip to the range was spent trying some Federal .223 that didn't want to cycle more than 2 or 3 at a time without selecting the safety to "safe" and then back to "fire". Then tried some 5.56 Independence that Brett sold me which seemed to cycle better. Ran about 50 rounds total then took the gun home and cleaned it and oiled the bolt up a bit. My next trip to the range I ran the 5.56 only and no FTFs. Zeroed in my red dot and got 1" groups at 25 yards (max distance at my San Diego indoor range)... I had much better luck with the action oiled and 5.56 in the mags during subsequent range time to about 200 rounds --no problems and .223 also ran fine through the gun. Went out on Father's Day with my 21 year-old daughter and she spotted for me at 150 and 200 yds at my outdoor range. As I tightened up the zero on my Bushnell red dot and was able to get consistent hits on 5" and 8" targets I had no FTFs (100 rds) and the rifle is really breaking in nicely. Very happy with the quality and finish and love the free-floating quad-rail barrel. I had heard some negatives about early production DB15 models but feel like they must have worked out the kinks so they now have a very competitive AR for the price. I give both the DB15B and Hinterlands 4 stars. I'll be back to Hinterlands for future purchases. Thanks Brett! .... Gerry A.
