Best factory ammo I've used over 40 years of hunting. Consistent accuracy, and absolute crushing knockdown power. I have never had an animal run more than a body's length after being hit by this ammo. I use nothing else.

I heard about these 160gr Nosler Partitions from a friend who used them for years in his 7 rem mag. Now that i have used them for several years and they are, (as i was told) the best ammo for the 7 rem mag i have found!! I first tried hornady and had problems with expansion at close range(less than 75yrds).
I then tried Remington and had problems patterning them! Yes I did say patterning them! Cost me one of the bigger bucks i've had the pleasure of hunting!
I have shot nothing other than 160gr Federal Premiums from then on!! I know that early on in the 7's appearance, there was not much of a selection of ammo, and bullets were not meant to expand at such speed and close range.
These are extremely accurate in my 7mm rem mag. No need for numbers and measurements! I have made a few shots at extended range and have hit the heart lung every time. I have never recovered any bullets from the deer i've shot (all passed through) but did more than enough damage for the deer to go anywhere. I did recover 2 bullets from 2 elk, and they were both expanded perfectly.
The front lead was just hanging on and the back partition was slightly buldged! Close range is still a bit tricky, but shot placement must be the main goal in any situation. These 160 gr bullets aren't what's new, but i will TRUST them before I TRUST anything else!
