If you are looking for a semi auto battle rifle in .308, this is it!
The best hands down.
Weighing in at about 8lbs it is considerably lighter than most other legacy platforms in this caliber, and even better yet despite being a light weight for its caliber, it has very minimal recoil.
Even a bare bones simple AR10 will more than likely weigh more and kick more than the SCAR17s.
Despite having a pencil barrel profile, sub-moa groups are still achievable with good ammo, a good shooter, and just a little bit of cool down time between shots. A good shooter can still obtain sub 2moa groups with sustained fire of all 20rds in the magazine.
Ive owned mine for almost a year now, and I would say reliability is top notch. I have fed it every type of ammo I could find other sun, from match grade to cheap Russian steel case rounds, it eats it all without
issue.
The only major critique I have of this rifle is at this moment spare magazines are not easy to come by, but FN is promising that will be remedied by the end of 2011 or early 2012. Apparently our boys in Special Forces are getting first dibs on all the spare mags available, and rightfully so!
Get yours while the getting is good, the price is only getting higher and higher on these fine machines!
