Product Description

Kahr's seven patents result in benefits not available in other compact semi-autos on the market today. The black polymer frame features patented 4140 steel inserts molded into the frame in the front and back for added rigidity and strength, which can withstand firing thousands of rounds. Kahr's incomparable cocking cam trigger system employs a patented cam to both unlock the firing pin block (passive safety), and complete cocking and releasing of the firing pin. The system provides a "safe-cam action" and unbelievably smooth double action only trigger stroke, fast to fire in critical defensive situations. Many lower cost compact semi-autos on the market today do not have firing pin blocks in their design. Kahr's two patents covering the offset recoil lug and the trigger bar attachment allow Kahr's barrel to fit lower in the frame, and since there is no hammer, the shooter's hand is further up the grip resulting in less felt recoil and quick follow-up shots. Kahr offers the CM series at a great value price, but did not compromise on the features, accuracy or reliability found in all Kahr pistols.

Follow up on intial Review 10/30/2015 On the second visit to the Range I did not experience any FTF or any other glitches. it functioned flawlessly!! In fact - my wife out-shot me :( Bottom line - this is the weapon I was looking for my Primary Carry Conceal . I also tried it with my 1911 commander 7 rd mags - works great (another reason I chose it.) I would highly recommend this model - especially for personal carry.

Received the CM45 in a very timely manner. Had very good communications with their sales associates on shipping time and FFL connection. I would definitely consider another purchase with Hinterland Outfitters. On the pistol. Kahr recommends at least 200 rds down the barrel to break it in. I've put around 75 or so on the first trip to the range. First 5 mags when flawless. Then I started experiencing FTF (Failure to Feed) and Failure to Return to Battery. Mostly on the second round - but it also occurred in other sequences ( third, last). A couple of factors to consider. All this ammo was reloads (reloads by a retailer online). Ammo looked good. No noticeable casing deformation - FMJ seamed clean. Also - I did not pre-clean the weapon. May have had some factory applied preservative or whatnot. Have done a field cleaning of the slide and polymer lower - but, before I return for the second testing - I'll completely strip the Slide (firing pin, extractor, etc) and give it a thorough soaking in a solvent - blow off all parts with compressed air and re-lube with LSA (ya, that's right - still have some from 1973) some of you Older guys will recognize the stuff.. Anyway - this is going to be my Carry Conceal primary. It has to function 100% - without fail. If I continue to experience problems - it's going back to Kahr's for modifications until it works as it's suppose to. I will re-post after my initial 200 round break in..
