The Knights Armament SR-15E3 IWS Carbine MOD I is a 5.56 NATO/223 Rem rifle featuring a 16” hammer forged chrome-lined barrel with a 1:7 twist. Rifles includes the URX3.1 13.5” rail system with integrated flip-up sights. The SR-15 also comes with a telescoping SOPMOD stock and one magazine. The Stoner Rifle 15 series are semi-automatic rifle featuring the URX (upper receiver extending) free floating barrel system, an ambidextrous control system, a two-stage trigger, an improved multi-lug E3 bolt and integral front sight and sling mounts. The SR-15E3 features multi-lug improved E3 Bolt assuring reliability and function of the rifle.
The latest evolution of Knight's SR-15E3 MOD I 16” Carbine now features an improved URX 3.1 with a longer overall length to allow for better muzzle stabilization. This alternation allows for reduced weight by removing the commonly unused rail section of the system. This longer rail also help with muzzle stabilization increasing accuracy. It also allows shooters who prefer a thinner rail diameter the ability to still mount accessories on the front end of the weapon while providing a comfortable grip. This is already a comprehensive package on its own and does not require excessive modular accessories for performance enhancement. The KAC SR-15 is the first rifle model with an Integral Weapons System (IWS) that combines both built-in and modular features. Unlike many of the AR-15's currently on the marker Knights Armament produces the majority of their parts in house. Hammer Forging:
Knight’s Armament employs a hammer-forging process on a number of there barrels and chambers, which serves to increase the quality of their interior finish, as well as increasing the durability and life of the barrel. E3 Enhanced Bolt:
The E3 Enhanced Bolt from Knight’s Armament features a number of components designed to make this bolt the most durable and reliable bolt available. It is a proprietary bolt specifically designed for our SR15 and 16 models. The E3 Bolt boasts several features that add to the its overall performance such as the enlarged bolt face, rounded lugs, reduced cam pin, and proprietary extractor and firing pin designs. Ambidextrous Controls:
Knight’s Armament designed this system to give shooters the maximum amount of options in their controls. Under this design all of the weapon’s major controls can be accessed from either side of the lower receiver. Two-Stage Match Trigger:
