I bought this revolver in March. Some years ago I had a Freedom Arms in .454 so I have some basis for comparison. First, it is easier to hand load than the BFR. The chambers aren't nearly so tight. In my experience the accuracy isn't much different between the two - better than I can shoot. I'm 69 and one advantage the BFR has is Hi Viz sights as an option. I shot this gun once a week from March through the first part of September. In September I took it elk hunting on a private ranch in Colorado and I took a nice 6x6 bull who was absorbed in the rut. I'll use it for javelina and January although that will be a bit of overkill. I use the BFR bandolier holster. It is cut for the 7 1/2 inch but I had a local leather worker take off an inch for $10. This is a great revolver for handgun hunting. I've bought two guns from Hinterland Outfitters with no problems.
