Ive never owned a carbine "bush gun" before. Did the research and it was either 30-30, or .223, but I was looking for a true lever action, so this is it. Ordered the rifle and had no problems with the FFL transfer.
It went VERY smoothly and quickly. Very pleased with the fit and finish of the stainless steel and the stock.Went to the range for firing practice. Very happy with the recoil.
Only 2 problems: The rear iron sight is garbage, made from cheap sheet steel. Needless to say, it was bent slightly when i received the rifle throwing my rounds way off sheet at 100 yrds. Tried to bend it back, but never could get it perfect, even using a gun vice, so it wasn't me.
And the trapdoor for the ammunition is super tight. Makes it very difficult to load rounds until I can wear out the tension mechanism to loosen up and allow for smoother insertion. Hence the 4 star.
So I went and bought some 3.5-10x50mm glass and removed the rear iron sights to accommodate it and a solid 1 piece mount using medium height mounts in the pre-drilled mount holes. Perfect and easy fit, and still love the finish.
No problem sighting in the rifle with new glass, and I couldn't be happier.

I am so excited to find the rifle I have been looking for and at a great price. This particular rifle has been very difficult to locate.
