Product Description

The CZ 550 American has all the features of the CZ 550 Lux but in an American styled package. This rifle was made with the American shooter in mind. The American features a classic American pattern stock with 18 LPI checkering, satin finish and a Pachmayer recoil pad. The American is not fitted with sights and is supplied with scope rings. The Mauser style claw extractor for positive loading and extraction, and compact trigger mechanism which can be used as a single stage or a single set trigger. The CZ 550 has a positive 2-position safety. All CZ 550's feature a classic square bridge receiver with a 19mm dovetail milled right into the receiver for the mounting of optics. For accuracy and long life these rifles are fitted with hammer forged barrels.

This is my third CZ and my favorite, I also have a 6.5x55 and 22 Hornet.
out of the box accuracy, adjustable trigger pull, scope rings included.
Just add your favorite scope.

Hinterland is a great place to buy, very good at communicating status of order
quick delivery, I will definitely by my fourth CZ from them.

This is my third CZ purchased sight unseen, and I have yet to be disappointed

The rifle has an excellent recoil pad, an adjustable trigger, very ergonomic stock, free floated barrel, and a nice balance. Accuracy is outstanding for a factory rifle, sub moa with good handloads are the norm.

I can shoot 100 rounds of max loads in one sitting and not have a sore shoulder. I've always wanted 7mm mauser (I'm well past my magnum faze) and when I found out that CZ made one it was a simple decision.

While I have yet to hunt with the rifle, I'm pretty sure after over 100 years in the field for the 7mm mauser, and CZ's reputation; it will be very successful hunting rifle in the future.

This rifle is worth the asking price... Well built and accurate. The walnut stock is substantial with good checkering and inletting; wood to metal fit is good.

The bolt is typical Mauser control feed; trigger has a set feature (push forward for a one pound release) which works very well.

The regular trigger pull is typical military Mauser, i.e., take up the slack until against the sear, then about four pound release.

It is fully adjustable with a 7mm open end wrench. Accuracy is excellent and repeatable... One moa or less. I have seen internet forum complaints of weak ejection on this rifle, but I found it to be, again, typical Mauser.

There is an ejector blade that the cartridge head must contact for positive ejection; a medium pull on the bolt throws the case well clear. It is not the same design as the typical Rem 700..

I removed the action from the stock and found steel pillar bedding with the forward action screw threaded into the bottom of the recoil lug.

Again, typical Mauser design. The action screws were factory torqued above 50 pounds.

Overall, I am very pleased with this rifle...Hinterland Outfitters was easy to deal with and shipped quickly to my FFL.
