The 712 Target is built with the price conscious target shooter in mind. This gun is built on the proven 712 action but features a 30 inch barrel with a 10mm stepped rib designed to pattern high for rising trap targets. This model is ideal for beginner shooters or parents looking to outfit their FFA or high school trap shooter with their first gun. This model is very simple to operate and maintain, plus the gas operated system and the full size target stock makes recoil seem nonexistent.

Finally got out to the trap range. When placed in the gun rack along with many "pricey" shotguns, I was proud of mine! Did not stand out as a starter gun.

The gun performed flawlessly as well as the shotgun shell catcher which I installed. My scores were low, as to be expected for a beginner, but the fault was mine not the gun.

Only improvement I would like CZ to make is an improved recoil pad at the butt. Kick is tolerable, but could be lessened to make shooting more enjoyable.

Just received my gun and can't wait to try it out on the trap range. Gun was fairly well protected in the shipping box with satin sleeves over the main parts; barrel and forearm to but plate.

Luckily there were no scratches or dents on the metal or woodwork. Wood is Turkish Walnut with a nice amount of grain and good finish.

The satin black metal work looks good. Gun is as pictured in the add. Instructions were simple to follow regarding assembly. Overall quality of the gun is not like a Beretta, Browning, or Remington, etc., but the price is right.

Have to purchase a shotgun shell catcher before I can go on the range. Since this is a trap gun it should come with the shell catcher.

I am happy with my purchase and would recommend this gun to any cost conscious trap shooter. You don't need frills to break clay pigeons. Will write another review after I get back from the range.
