I have the 338 mossberg 4x4 and like it: recoil is about the same as a 308, very nice shooting rifle at longer ranges, 400-600 yds, it has a 8-32 scope on it and still is light enough to pack it all day long, the trigger is sweet and i have to remember that this on goes bang easy with the trigger set at 2 lbs, like it better than my m-77 ruger 7mm, way less recoil than my 450 marlin, it's a keeper
