Mossberg is joining industry heavyweights in the AR-15 market such as Remington, Ruger, and S&W. Mossberg wants to differentiate themselves in the market by going with a A2-style (carry handle) receiver instead of the A3-style. Featuring A2 front and rear sights with a carry handle picatinny rail if you want to mount optics. Most tactical .22s have a 16" barrel, but Mossberg has decided to go with an 18" barrel for a better sight radius and a more traditional look. Also featuring a full length picatinny rail hand guard and a 10 round or 25 round magazine. Mossberg is offering these guns in a fixed and an adjustable stock.

I recently purchased one of these babies. The owners manual states very clearly you must take the gun apart and clean it thoroughly.
I had a friend buy this same model and he did not clean it first. The rifle kept jamming and He swore the ammo was no good. I actually cleaned mine twice before I took it to the range to fire it.
I am extremely happy with it. It did jam a few times but that is the fault of the magazine. If you take it and oil it before use, you shouldn't have much jamming.
I would also recommend that you take some oil with you . After a hundred round, The cartridge chamber got very dry and jammed on me. I squirted a few drops of oil and it worked like a charm again.
I did not expect too much from this gun but overall was satisfied with its performance. It is just a fun gun to shoot and the ammo is cheap enough that you can spend a whole day shooting it. I would recommend this gun to anyone.

I bought this rifle for my 12 year old son. For the price, it's a great entry level .22 that works as advertised.
Overall, I'm very satisfied with this purchase. There are a couple of issues (mainly cosmetic) that reduced my rating from 5 stars.
First, the handguard rails are quite sharp and requred covers to keep them from wearing out small, tender hands (although, I had no problem with them as is). The safe/fire selector is "fake" making training less than accurate.
These are minor faults, and in no way effect function or accuracy!

Best gun under $300!!!! This is one of the best selling newest rifles that are out. It has taken more forever to find one available. My best friend has one and it is amazing. Very lightweight, durable, and just looks amazing. Its a great gun and a lot of fun. Not a lot if kick due to it being a .22, ammo is cheap, and we haven't seen a miss fire yet. Plus you have a lot of options with attachments to put on the quad rails.
