Product DescriptionThe K8 was engineered for accuracy and affordability. Designed much like the UM-1, most shooters cannot distinguish between the two, and the only real difference is the barrel. Where the UM-1 has an Ultramatch barrel, the K8 has a 416 Stainless Steel button rifled barrel. Wanted an accurate target type AR and I found it. Went to the range and did the shoot, clean, shoot, clean for about twenty five rounds and then settled into a rest on the 100 yard line.
The barrel showed very little fouling, just a little carbon, no excessive copper. Even with the stock trigger (terrible as are all OEM AR triggers) this rifle printed 3 shot groups well under an inch with four different brands of ammo. Really liked a 68 gr. Hollow Point load and shot that into tiny groups.
The fit and finish is at least on par with most of the AR's and M16's I've seen/handled/owned over the years. Fit between upper and lower is good and tight, better than my Colt and Bushmaster.
Four stars because of the heavy, creepy trigger but that will be replaced in the near future.
