This was the best 1911 I've ever owned. It was sent to a gunsmith for a slide repair and was trashed to be dysfunctional. I have been sad ever since. I would love to get my hands on another one. I loved everything about it. It is a tack driver with 15 rounds. I don't think it was that much heavier than some of my other 1911's. I miss it sorely. I give it five stars easily.

This is my first firearm from PARA USA and honestly, I must say that I was impressed with the quality, performance, and accuracy of the Black Ops 14-45. The double stack 14 round magazine capacity of .45 ACP is the perfect combination of reliability, firepower, and stopping power for wild hog hunting here in Florida.

I cleaned the pistol then went to the range, I was very disappointed because of the FTF and FTE problems. I cleaned the gun again and disassembled , cleaned and lubricated the inside of the magazines with a dry lubricant. The next trip to the range was very different , I had no FTF or FTE with about 200 rounds fired. I have since fired about 350 rounds of lead round nose, lead SWC and jacketed bullets with no problems. I am enjoying this pistol now.

Just an update on my Black-Ops - a couple months ago and after 4 to 5 hundred rounds I decided that it was time to give it a bath in my Lyman 6000 sonic cleaner. I took all apart down to nothing left in the frame or slide, dropped in the sonic cleaner with just plain water and some Simple green, minutes later took it out and realized that the beaver tail had lost the Ion-Bond finish, I almost cried.. I also noticed that the ambi safety's finish was a little lighter than the rest of the gun but not a big deal. Anyway I decided to Email Para to see if it was possible to reorder a new beaver tail. I explained what I did in detail including that I tripped one of the grip screws...(man they are tight). I got an email back where they asked me to send it back to them... in the email there was a pre-paid label for Fed-Ex, I sent it out days later after I put back the original springs (recoil, firing pin spring, etc,).
My Black Ops was back to them... I said to myself that I will pay what ever it takes to have my baby beautiful as new... about 10 days later it was back in my hands opened the box and there was an invoice from them where it was itemized what they did to it;
- New Beaver Tail
- New Ambi Safety
- New Firing pin safety plunger spring
- New set of VZ-operator Grips and screws (this are at least $65 per set
- Tested 4 full magazine
Total including $40 shipping was $210.00+
Total Owed = "$0"
Speaking of warranty... I did the damage to it... it was not a defect from factory and I didn't have to pay for anything... WOW...
1- don't use Simple green in the sonic cleaner on any Aluminum parts, they will lose the finish.
2- don't buy a second hand Para, the warranty only covers the 1st owner. I bought a Para Black-Ops single stack second hand to save myself $100 it was an impulse buy ... but now I regret not ordering it new..
At the end I can say that I love Para, I have 3 of them and waiting for the pro customs in 40S&W and 9mm to be released so I can put my hands on them.
I must add that since I got it back I don't want to use it... it's like brand new again.

There is only one word to describe this gun... "Amazing." It has everything you need in a pistol - hi-capacity 14 + 1 rounds, skeletonized trigger and hammer, full size recoil spring rod, Trijicon sights preferred for night shooting, ambidextrous safety, Picatinny rail to add a tactical light.
Please don't ruin it by adding a useless laser. It comes with 2 mags, a gun lock, and last, but not least, it has VZ G10 grips that I believe run for about $60 a pair if you want to buy them separate.
Para USA offers life time warranty, and I read that their customer service is top notch
I shot 100 rounds the 1st day, and then I changed the recoil spring for a lighter one - standard is too heavy for my taste. I changed the main spring and fire pin spring, and after 100 more rounds, I can say that the gun behaves much better and is easier to handle. (I'm in no way recommending changing anything. I did this at my own risk so if you chose to do it, make sure you have it done by your local gunsmith)
I have mid to large hands, and the grip is perfect for me. My hands wraps around it like it was made for it, and it has a nice punch - the kind of punch you should expect from a 45acp, Due to how the market is these days, I was only able to find Winchester 230 grains, not my favorite weight but then again... now you have to buy what you find - not what you want. I like light weight bullets that travel faster and make the slide cycle faster as well.
Black Ops is big. It weighs about 2.5 lbs empty and is a little bit over 3 lbs with 14 rounds in the mag. I like a heavy gun so for me weight is not a problem. The craftsmanship is amazing, the gun is very smooth, no rough edges, perfect fitting... is like custom made...
Now about Hinterland:
I was shocked that they had it in stock... the price was the best I have seen since I put my eyes on this piece. I ordered late at night on a Tuesday, my local FFL dealer faxed their info at noon on Wednesday, and immediately after I got an email saying that my Para was on its way to me. Friday afternoon it was in my hands in Pennsylvania, and 10 minutes later I was shooting it at the range. Love at first sight...yeah the sights are that good...
This is my 3rd Para and it will not be the last one. If you like 1911s look no further, - Para is the handgun you are looking for.
Thank you Hinterland... Thank you Para-USA.
