Versa Max shatters convention and all previous benchmarks for reliability with an action unlike any that have come before it. Proven in the field and in extreme tests of endurance with thousands of test rounds, it cycles 12-gauge loads with ultimate consistency, softer recoil and less maintenance than many other shotguns. The TriNyte barrel and nickel Teflon-plated internal components offer extreme corrosion resistance. It has a drilled, tapped receiver and an enlarged trigger guard opening and larger safety for easier use with gloves. The synthetic stock and forend have gray overmolded grips and and adjustable comb. It includes five (5) flush-mount Pro Bore chokes (Full, Mod, Imp Mod, Light Mod, IC). This shotgun is also available in left-handed model.

I bought the Versamax LH in black for duck hunting. I like gun a lot but I have had a few occasions where it failed to go bang. A few times, the bolt failed to return fully to battery. A few other times, I simply forgot to hit shell release after reloading. Gun was initially stiff when new, and this may have been part of problem. Also, weather was extremely wet, muddy, and gun was subjected to about 20 hunts without cleaning. So I accept at least part of blame. Gun is very easy to disassemble and clean, and I think reliability will be fine as gun loosens up a bit.

My Versamax arrived as promised, on-time, in perfect condition, with 5 choke tubes, gun, and accessories all safely packed in a Remington hard case inside a cardbox shipping container. Looks great. Have not had a chance to use yet. Happy with customer care, price, and shipping.

Great that Remington offers this in left hand - not many options available for lefty shooters.
