Bought this rascal because I've owned Rugers for a long time. No disappointment here.
Out of the box, and resting the gun on my knee in a sitting position I put three out of five in a 1 -1/2 " group at about 60 feet. I again am greatly impressed with Ruger. Great job guys and gals.

Very nicely done Ruger! I have really been wanting a 1911 for a long time now and their were a lot of 1911's that I was looking at.
Then Ruger came out with this one! It took a while to get one but at that price for what you get is GREAT!
You could easily spend over a $1,000 on a Kimber of the same quality of the Ruger. When I took it to the range for the first time it worked very well as expected.
I was able to keep very tight groups at 10-20 yrds. Out at 50 yrds I was still able to keep the group close but I'm not an expert shot.
My father has the Kimber Custom and it is a nice 1911 but I would take the SR1911 all day long.
I'm very happy with it and would suggest it to anyone that is looking for that first 1911 at a good price point or even the collector that wants another fine 1911 in their collection.
Ruger did a very good job with the SR1911!

Stays true to the 1911 from a company we expect no less than. It comes from the factory the way it should be, no need to customize further. Tight, accurate, brought back the fun of shooting these classic firearms. I want another.

Love this gun. Feels and shoots amazing. Very tight action. Holds a great group. I would buy another if they weren't so hard to find right now. If you see one, pick it up. You wont be disappointed. Best 1911 under $800....
