Got the 5" SR1911 for Christmas. Had been wanting one for months. Cleaned and oiled it first but really didn't need to. Was my first 1911. What a beautiful piece of art! Very accurate! Great price! Why pay over $1,000.00 for a 1911? Don't waste your money and break the bank. Buy this weapon and you won't be sorry.

I found mine after a year's search. Broke it in with apx 300 rounds & the magazines that came with the gun plus the Trips Cobra mags that I bought also. I used some wolf ammo for the break in as well as Remington 230 g. FMJ ammo. Not one FTF or Jam at all the gun at 25 yds off hand put them all where I was aiming. I have made the Sr 1911 my EDC gun. Ruger has a great winner with this Gun. One day maybe I will consider getting the new Commander model that Ruger has come out with also.

Ruger got this one right! Almost exactly the same firing system as my Colt government model 70 series, and it has extras like the Novac sights and the extended beavertail and skeletonized hammer. Very, very accurate and has never had a malfunction. One glitch--the front sight snapped off after about 150 rounds. Ruger sent a replacement, and it hasn't had another issue in the 400 rounds since.

This firearm is of superb quality with tight tolerances in the machining process. It's extremely handsome and I'm quite happy to have found one. The Ruger 1911 can stand up to the higher priced competition without a doubt. This gun is a dream to shoot, very little kick and deadly accurate. I have 9mm's that have more recoil than this weapon. You're going to be very happy if you purchase the Ruger 1911. Brian R.

Bought this rascal because I've owned Rugers for a long time. No disappointment here. Out of the box, and resting the gun on my knee in a sitting position I put three out of five in a 1 -1/2 " group at about 60 feet. I again am greatly impressed with Ruger. Great job guys and gals.

Very nicely done Ruger! I have really been wanting a 1911 for a long time now and their were a lot of 1911's that I was looking at. Then Ruger came out with this one! It took a while to get one but at that price for what you get is GREAT! You could easily spend over a $1,000 on a Kimber of the same quality of the Ruger. When I took it to the range for the first time it worked very well as expected. I was able to keep very tight groups at 10-20 yrds. Out at 50 yrds I was still able to keep the group close but I'm not an expert shot. My father has the Kimber Custom and it is a nice 1911 but I would take the SR1911 all day long. I'm very happy with it and would suggest it to anyone that is looking for that first 1911 at a good price point or even the collector that wants another fine 1911 in their collection. Ruger did a very good job with the SR1911!

Stays true to the 1911 from a company we expect no less than. It comes from the factory the way it should be, no need to customize further. Tight, accurate, brought back the fun of shooting these classic firearms. I want another.

Love this gun. Feels and shoots amazing. Very tight action. Holds a great group. I would buy another if they weren't so hard to find right now. If you see one, pick it up. You wont be disappointed. Best 1911 under $800....
