The SR9c compact pistol utilizes the same adjustable, high visibility 3-Dot sight system as its full sized predecessor, setting it apart from manycompact pistols that rely on fixed sights. New serrations are located on the front portion of the slide, making it easier to both manipulate the slide and to press check the chamber. The SR9c is available with a glass filled nylon frame and through hardened slide in blackened finish. State compliant variations are available where necessary and ship with two 10 round magazines. Just like the original, full sized SR9, the SR9c is loaded with modern safety features like a 1911 style ambidextrous manual safety, internal trigger bar interlock and striker blocker, trigger safety, magazine disconnect, plus a visual and tactile loaded chamber indicator.

An absolutely perfect pistol. It is accurate & reliable to a very high degree, digesting any type of ammo & putting them on target. I looked at just about every 9mm pistol in this category & kept going back to this Ruger--it has not disappointed I also appreciate the various safety features; I do not want a case of 'Glock Leg'..As a concealed carry or home defense compact 9mm. it cannot be beat.

I have several Rugers, both revolvers and semi-autos, and love them all and never had a problem. So I was surprised when I got this SR9c and after the 3 shot, the slide stayed back as if the gun were empty. I re-racked, fired and the same thing happened. I sent it back to Ruger who found the slide release lever and spring had broken. They were VERY nice and repaired it for free quickly. They paid for shipping both ways and even threw in cleaning products for my trouble. It shoots accurately and works great now. Fun to shoot.
But it still shook my idea that Rugers are flawless.

With the gun market today, non existent. This looks to be the perfect cc gun. Ruger reliability will always be there when you need them, just waiting for the shelves to get restocked so I can purchase one.

Have had this gun for 1 year. It is a nice shooter. Low bore axis makes follow up shots very easy. Grip fits me good and I have medium hands (7.5 glove size). This gun is known to fit ladies hands well. I actually like using my 1st digit for trigger pull. My sons Glock 19 has a longer reach. As many have noted elsewhere, the SR9c has a sweet, sweet trigger feel.
I also happen to like the safety features. The obvious loaded chamber indicator works for me. The thumb safety is 1911 style and easy but definite when applying to fire. To put on safe takes practice. Also has a magazine disconnect, which I don't mind one way or the other.
I have five magazines (2 x 10 round; 3 x 17 round). One of the magazines does not drop free, though the others do. Should have sent it back when I bought it.
I did have to send the gun back to Ruger to have the trigger bar assembly worked on. Ruger by the way is very easy to work with. Paid for shipping both ways. They only had it for about 1 to 2 weeks. I think they had a few issues with their first go at polymer autos. But mostly they did well, and I feel that it will only get better.
