The Sig Sauer 1911 proves that close tolerances equal complete reliability and need not be incompatible in an off-the-shelf pistol. Sig Sauer has introduced clean, distinct lines that American shooters have embraced, while retaining the crisp trigger pull, classic ergonomics, and exceptional accuracy they expect. The 1911 Scorpion features a Flat Dark Earth (FDE) Cerakote-coated stainless frame and slide, low-profile night sights, and an 8-round magazine. Hogue's innovative magwell grip set combines G10 grip plates and mainspring housing in an integrated magazine well extension that promotes rapid magazine changes. The grips feature Hogue's Piranha texture for excellent retention in any environment, and they come in a multi-layer green and black pattern that accents the Scorpion's FDE Cerakote finish.

This pistol is very impressive. I was able to shoot 3" groups at 25 feet right out of the box.
However I passed this pistol over to my friend who works at the range and he put 8 rounds in less than a quarter size group with his first mag. He felt this Sig is ever bit as accurate as the Dan Wesson he carries daily.
Both of us felt however the 5# trigger rating is probably closer to 6.5-7 pounds from the factory but should settle in after 500 rounds or so.
Some people have be knocking the Sig factory mags suppled but I haven't had any issues with them but I also used Willson Combat and Colt Elites without any problems.
The G10 grips really feel great almost like wearing a Velcro glove. The finish and fit are better than most production 1911 pistols out there. Not sure that I need night sights but they are an added bonus.
I think John Browning would be proud of Sig's twist on the 1911.
