Excellent fit and finish! The slide functioned with out any issues, the only gripe I have is the kit only comes with one mag....c'mon Sig!

This kit was the deciding factor for me purchasing a Sig P229 Classic 22 pistol. Not only was I in the market for a centerfire pistol for which there was a rimfire conversion kit for cheap practice on the exact same platform as my carry pistol, I wanted them both to be made by the original manufacturer.

This peace of mind was very valuable to me. Not for nothing, but purchasing the P229 Classic 22 and then the CALX-229-9-BSS gave me the entire package for about the same price as if I had bought the P229 alone. No matter which way you slice it, this is THE pistol deal of the century.

As a side note of significance: a consensus of user reviews which originally panned the P229/P226 Classic 22 pistols' reliability were updated after several hundred rounds saying that the action had smoothed out dramatically and any FTFs and other issues had vanished completely. The Classic 22 apparently has a break in period.

The CALX-229-9-BSS turns your pistol into a STOCK P229R with the same reliability and accuracy you'd expect from one you purchased off the shelf.

I personally love Sig Sauer products. 'Their To Hell and Back Reliability' is still true to this day -and no less so for the Classic 22lr series with which I use this kit.

If you get the CALX-229-40-BSS, or the CALX-229-357-BSS to accompany the CALX-229-9-BSS, you'll have a truly versatile platform, able to fire 22lr, 9mm, 40Cal, and .357Sig. Not a bad range of useful calibers for a single gun.

Great price on this - works great and locks back after last round. Added some weight to the gun and I think it is heavier than my Glock 22. Wish sig would figure out how to make the 22lr lock back on empty - Come on Sig.

Conversion kit fit perfect on my P229r .22, the 15 round 9mm magazine has been flawless so far. Conversion performs outstanding, but that being said the nitron finish from Sig is not up to the quality I expected from them.

The inside of the slide has a rather larger square where the fixture that holds the part during coating leaves it unfinished and Sig says this is not a QC problem that it is totally acceptable and will not harm performance or durability, But the slide being made of ferrous metal unfinished I worry about a rusting issue.

The barrel I received was also poorly finished but the exterior parts you can see are finished very well. Hinterland Shipping was very fast and straight forward. Highly recommend this part but be aware of the possible Quality issue.
