The SIG SAUER P226 Combat Handgun
In the top-class of production pistols, the SIG SAUER® P226® is considered as an American first line of defense. Designed specifically for the United States Army and carried by the U.S. Navy SEALs, Texas Rangers and many other elite military and law enforcement professionals, the SIG P226 proved its mettle and then some with reliability, durability, and accuracy. This P226 handgun from SIG set the standard for all other combat handguns to be measured with. In order for a new design to replace the 1911, this pistol was designed as SIGs entrant in the military trials.
In the heat of combat, at the shooting range, or for home-defense, the SIG SAUER P226 full-sized handgun is a force to be reckoned with. With an included integral accessory rail, the SIG SAUER P226 is a Double-Action/Single-Action (DA/SA) pistol. There is also a Single-Action Only (SAO) model available too. With exceptional ergonomics and balance, the P226 pistol is very easy to handle. The three calibers of 9mm, .357 SIG or .40 S&W and a longer barrel yields for better accuracy and ballistic performance.
Designed to match and exceed the rigorous military standards, the SIG SAUER P226® Combat handgun performs like not any 9mm pistol existing. Every P226 Combat features the Flat Dark Earth (FDE) finish on its alloy frame and SIGs Nitron® finish over a stainless slide. The internal parts and controls of the P226 Combat are phosphated for extreme corrosion resistance and reduced friction. The Combat barrel is hard chromed and finished in Nitron® which easily passes the accuracy requirements of the military. The SIG SAUER P226 Combat also passes the 240-hour salt spray corrosion test from the military. Additional features of the SIG Combat P226 include a M1913 Picatinny rail, SIGLITE® night sights and vertical front strap serrations.
