This is a fantastic rifle for a very reasonable price. I bought this package in .270 Winchester back in January and I love this rifle so much I'm getting another one in . 223 Remington. The Weaver Kaspa scope works great for me. I've put about 100 rounds through this thing and it still holds its zero. The 270 is a 100% tack driver that shoots flat as hell. I consistently hit milk jugs out to 300 yards with no hold over. I center the cross hairs on the center of the jug and nail it every time.
I do have one little complaint, and that is the factory stock is kind of flimsy. But even at that I'm still hitting my targets with the gun on shooting sticks. I got my 270 with a camo stock but upgraded to a Boyd Stock. There are several "How Too's" that show how to stiffen the flimsy factory stock. I did them on the camo stock and will use it on my 223. I've shot both the Remington and Mossberg entry level rifle/scope packages and the Savage Axis II is WAY better.
The action of the Axis II is as smooth as a Remington 700 and the adjustable Accu Trigger are just incredible. I have it at its lowest setting and the shot is always a complete surprise. Both the Remington a Mossberg's are such stiff triggers I have to think about "Squeezing" them. I can't say enough good things about this combo, it shoots awesome and puts deer meat in my freezer.
