My 15 year old son used a Savage model 110 in a .243 caliber for deer hunting this year. I had the pleasure to sit with him for this hunt, I did not carry a firearm.
He proceeded to shoot 5 deer in one day, a really nice 7 point, a 5 point (his first buck) and 3 really nice does. Don't worry folks, he had tags for all of them(we eat what we hunt). His success with this gun(not a single problem) has swayed me to purchase a Savage model 110 in a left hand version in a 30-06 caliber.
My son and I hope to hunt the rockies for some western big game someday.
