The 17 Series of bolt action rifles helps heighten the fun of rimfire shooting while maintaining Savage standards of meticulous crafting with the balance of modern, high-tech methods and old-world hand craftsmanship. The FSS comes with the built-in adjustability and safety of AccuTrigger, so there's no need for a gunsmith to modify it. AccuTrigger also provides a crisp, clean trigger pull, which enhances accuracy. It has the basic Savage 93 action and a two-position safety located immediately behind the bolt handle. The FSS features a stainless steel barrel and black synthetic stock with cut checkering and a detachable box magazine. Every 17 series model provides tack-driving accuracy powerful enough for dispatching small game and varmints.

I ordered the Savage model 93R17SS 17 HMR. Shipping was fast, and Hinterland was great with customer service. The rifle looks great, and everything works well. The only thing I would say is this paticular rifle has an uncomfortably tight action for a bolt rifle. It seems it's just kinda a fluke with factory clearance pushing a little tight between the bolt handle and the slot it slides down in to when you lock the action. Despite that I'm still happy with this product, and I'm sure it will loosen a bit once it gets some time at the range. I would purchase again because the performance and price are both good. I'll write another review when the action brakes in, to update the review.
