Had this rifle for several months now and it performs extremely well for a production platform vs a $3K custom. Replaced the accutrigger with a Sharp Shooter Supply trigger and have it adjusted to 8 oz. and replaced the bulbous bolt knob with a slim line Holland stainless tactical unit with nice leverage.
Topped it off with Nightforce 8-32 Benchrest glass with NF bases and rings. also, a US Optics anti-cant level (every long rifle should have one). Noticed the balance of the gun is somewhat forward due to the long, heavy target barrel.
Solved the problem by drilling pilot holes in the rear stock and inserted Tungsten steel machined rods just enough to balance out at the front rest. The BR ran factory Federal Gold Match 168gr well for barrel break-in and preliminary tests, but it screams for a properly assembled handload.
I achieved a 3 shot group at 565yards printing .796" (just over 3/4") using Lapua virgin brass, Berger 185gr target VLD projectiles, Fedreal GM 210M primers and Hodgdon Varget powder. Tips are seated 2/1000 off lands. (velocity and powder charge are UP TO YOU).
Rifle performs well with factory loads but a rifle like this prefers custom loads. Again, this a factory production, not a $3K custom build.
Can't leave out the high quality service from the staff at Hinterland. As of this writing, this is my 3rd firearm purchase from them and it will not be the last.
