I purchased my first Smith and Wesson revolver back in the early 70's when I became a deputy sheriff. It was a model 19 and I still own it. I was on a pistol team that won first place that same year. My last year of law enforcement was 1994 having served 21 years. I had fired the .44 magnum made by Ruger many years ago but I have never owned a firearm chambered for the .44 magnum. When I read an article about the new revolver, I learned about how well it is made and holds up to continuous diet of .44 magnum ammo. I have fired .44 magnum ammo and .44 S&W special ammo in this new revolver and love it as much as my old model 19. I am very satisfied with my purchase.
