The Smith & Wesson M&P 15 Sport is designed for just that Shooting sports. It is also ready to take on any other AR job description, personal defense, target, home protection, varmint hunting or just plinking. Featuring 16" barrel, an adjustable or adjustable style stock, adjustable front and rear sights, chrome lined gas key and bolt carrier. It also features a 30 round magazine or a 10 round magazine. You can also get the 10 round fixed magazine with a bullet button for the stated that the other is not legal.

It is about what one would expect from a CA legal model..."fixed" 10-rd mag. It has no ejection port dust cover or forward assist and no place to install either, but other than that it is a pretty nice shooting rifle.

6-position telescoping stock and rear flip up sight mounted on a flat-top receiver are nice additions. Nice, fairly basic rifle that can be used as a starter for those that do not already own an AR-15 type rifle.

No reliability issues and my only real complaints come from the features S&W had to do to make the rifle CA legal. Magazines and bullet button are easily replaced for those outside CA.

Good quality rifle from S&W at a decent price for the times, especially in CA.

This weapon is sweet. I'm mad that I didn't get one sooner. Have always been a 30-06 guy and always hunted with them but this AR is just a godsend now that I'm a senior citizen.

The service from hinterland is great. You Email them and they are right back to you. Will be buying more toys from them.

I've had this rifle for a year now... excellent value - perfect base to mod from.

Quality is great (as expected from S&W) - melonite 5R barrel with 1 in 8 twist is far from "cheap/budget/entry level"... the lack of dust cover and forward assist is a complete non-issue for just about anyone is suburban, rural or even country environment (even in SHTF scenarios)...

When this rifle was first released, there were a lot of comando nay-sayers... but now that it's been in the hands of many - and boatloads of expert reviews, you can see for yourself that this is an outstanding bang-for-buck AR (as in value, not low budget)...

Granted, after adding Troy FF rail, Troy flip up tritium rear BUIS, Meprolight tritium front sight post, replaced grip with CAA modular, VLTOR buttstock, and replaced mag lock with Radlock (adjustable to use as normal mag release - yes I'm a prisoner of society in CA), this "basic" rifle becomes less budget friendly, but that's the beauty of it - you can mod as you go...

Obviously building an AR the way you want it is an option - but for a quality basic rifle, that goes bang every time (with all ammo I've fed), the M&P Sport is about the best value to be found! There are many expert reviews and videos on the net - so anyone considering this rifle should do some research - you will find no reason to ignore this as a viable option.

As with all other purchases I've made from Hinterland, the price was very competitive and the customer service was top notch!
