If You are going to buy a portable camp or backpack shotgun with a pistol grip, this is the one to get. I can say first hand that there is no comparison in quality between this product and that other one made south of the equator that claimed to charm snakes.
As compared to that one, this firearm has a long enough stock to fire from the shoulder, it is very solid and won't fall apart when you fire it, and the action is tight with no side-to-side wobble when the action is open.
The only reasons why I did not rate it 5 stars are because of the improvements in the design that I would have included if given the chance, and also a few minor adjustments I had to make when I took it out of the box.
First of all, I would have made the barrel shorter by 2 inches and re-designed the stock to include a shell holder that holds more than 3 shells and vertically. Also, the nickle finish is rather rough (like sandpaper) and you can't rub it with a cloth very well (however, the finish does seem to be durable).
I also would have included a padded case so that when the barrel is taken off, you could transport it without damage. When I took it out of the box I noticed two things that needed adjustment.
The shell holder would not hold shells tightly without falling out, so I had to tighten the rubber washer screws, but that was easy. Also, opening the action was stiff because the composite forend was rubbing against the front of the receiver too much.
This probably would have been broken in on its own over time, but I smoothed out the forend so that the action would open easier. This is a great shooter with the new low recoil loads, and even from the hip shooting is quite stable.
I have not shot 3" shells through it yet but it seems to be built solid enough for it. I would recommend this for sure.
