The rifle arrived fairly quickly despite the delivery time being over the Christmas holidays. It looked great, even my wife wanted to mount it on the wall of our living room. I fired it this weekend at our local range. It was great fun to fire and I got several comments from other shooters and even the range safety officer about its good looks and authentic styling.

Excellent little black powder rifle. I experimented around with different types of pyrodex with mine and discovered triple fffg at 75-95 grains worked the best for this rifle. This guy is very accurate with a round ball or mini balls. The first year I owned this black powder unit I shot 8lbs of pirodex through it and kept on shooting it for several years with no change in accuracy. The last reviewer was right about this being a nice looking gun but wrong about the rest of this fine little weapon. This rifle will last a lifetime, it has an excellent fit and finish, and the sites are adjustable for windage and elevation. The only negative I found with this rifle is the weight - it is a little heavy. I have walked in the field all day hunting and noticed it at the end of the day!! The set triggers worked great on my rifle set the back unit and barley touch the front one and you have an accurate shot. Excellent gun - would buy another one in a heartbeat !!!

For a beginner this is good to start with. It's a good looking rifle. The double set triggers are great to have. I've found the set trigger is very hard to set and no second click (like I've found on other rifles ) and makes the shooting finger sore. The rear adjustable sites are good.
