Just a one year update on my Barrett 6.8 Rec 7 DI, 18":
Absolutely Love it. Has to be one of, if not the best factory AR's I've ever seen - and I own 2 very nice Daniel Defense DDM v11's to compare it to. Highly accurate, capable of half MOA groups if you don't over clean the barrel. Let it foul until it loses accuracy, which will be longer than you might think - hundreds of rounds. The hardware and finish is still really nice, very durable. Never had a single failure of any kind with any factory ammo, and I tried over a dozen of them. Even the maligned Remington UMC shot and cycled just fine (accuracy wasn't much though). It loves the Hornady SST 120's and several others - the cheap Federal American Eagle 115gr work great as accurate practice/plinking rounds. Many will like the stock ALG combat trigger just fine, especially if you prefer a slightly heavier pull for hunting. I put a G. SD-E in this for bench/target shooting. My favorite rifle to shoot, period.

Nice rifle. Just got it and haven't yet shot it, will update in a few weeks. I can say it was worth the wait, based on looks anyway...The bolt carrier group, barrel, and handguard are some of the nicest I've ever seen or felt. The Nib bcg looks flawless and is as smooth as glass. I love the look and smooth feel to the keymod handguard. The multipurpose brown Cerakote finish is attractive - I'd describe the actual color as more of a dark, slightly olive greenish brown; "dark mud brown", if you will. It's not a chocolate brown, which is what I was sort of expecting. I can see where it might be hard to match accessories to this color. The Magpul grip and stock are very serviceable and lightweight, and I'm sure many would like them, but I'm going to change them out to a set of Daniel Defense ones to match my other rifles that I'm familiar with. Dry firing the trigger was surprisingly smooth with a moderate brake (5 to 6 lbs?) on the one stage it has, especially as compared to a standard milspec one found on a DDM4 V11. I'll admit I'm spoiled by Geissele's and will likely put a SD-E on this gun eventually like I have my other DD's. That said, the stock trigger on this is nice as is and most would be happy with it. I'll follow up after my next trip to the range.
