What is there to say about the purchase of a new gun - its new.
Heavier than I had anticipated not a problem for my uses of the firearm though. Purchased for 500 plus yard shooting. Will cost a lot less for ammunition using the .223 while schooling myself for windage, slopes/angles. humidity, temperature etc,.. etc,..
With the bull barrel, harmonic dampener, fine tuned handloads .. almost forgot picked up a fine Vortex scope 6.5 x 24 x 50 FFP BDC, will modify the trigger for a crisp, light 2.5lb pull.
Have been a Ruger fan for over 40 years so I am expecting a lot from this firearm. As a matter of fact once I become comfortable with my abilities at long range my 7mm rem mag first gen M77 is going to have a coming out party, its a tack driver at 250 yards now, goal is to push the M77 to 1,000 yards.
Only problem I had with the purchase was Ruger sent wrong picatiny rail with the rifle - only inconvenience was a 5 minute phone call to Ruger, and two days later I had the correct one along with several decals I had asked about all free of charge of course.
