As noted in the description, this holster is designed to fit several pistols – one that isn’t mentioned in description is Taurus 24/7 Pro…
I test fitted my Taurus 24/7 Pro at a local dealer and even though it was a tight fit, I figured over time it would loosen up and fit better… I also have HK USPc .40 – since according to Bianchi’s website, this model number fits both pistols; I figured it’s a good versatile choice.
I purchased from Hinterland instead of the one found at local retailer, because even with shipping the price a good amount cheaper (not uncommon and is why Hinterland is my primary source for gear).
Having handled and inspected the holster locally, I knew the quality was good… very durable nylon, very good construction and decent looking… However, I didn’t actually apply the holster to belt and test weapon presentation (bad decision).
Once I received from Hinterland I test fitted the 24/7, USP and even Sig SP2009 – all sorta fit, but none felt natural… again, I figured with time it would break-in (at least the Taurus and HK since those are the models it’s made for)… So I applied holster to belt and did a few practice draws – I knew instantly it just wasn’t gonna work for me. The fit and stability were less than stellar - Thumb strap was way too difficult to acquire, drawing the weapon(s) was cumbersome and slow – there is no way I could consider this holster in a life or death situation.
I’m not one to be overly critical – because many products work for some applications and not others… for me, there isn’t anything I could use this holster for – not even at the range or around the house.
So even though I’m forfeiting half the price (by shipping back and having alternative shipped to me) – it’s better than paying full for something that would sit in a drawer.
For what it’s worth, the replacement I’m going with is ITAC TS1 – having acquired a Blackhawk CQC (also reviewed), I’m fond of that style retention holster and figured I’d see how the itac compares.
There might be a use for this Bianchi for others, but for me I have to give it a low rating.
