To assist you more efficiently, please include specific details about your question or concern in your email.  While we understand that not being able to reach an agent by phone may be frustrating, rest assured that our email support is available around the clock.

Although we provide secondary phone support and have a voicemail system where messages can be left at any time, our primary customer service is offered through email. Again, you can email us and/or leave voicemail messages 24/7 - no need to call.

Shipping Policy

Due to the complexity of state and local laws the customer must check to see if a product is legal to import into his state and locality. Some areas have restrictions on guns, ammunition, magazines, tear gas, lasers, and other items. It is the customer's responsibility to ensure compliance with all state and local laws. We reserve the right to refuse an order for any reason.

Non-Gun Orders

Please allow for an estimated 5-7 business days (excluding weekends and holidays) to process most non-gun orders before they are ready for shipment.

We will update your order status and provide you with tracking information when your order ships out to you. Tracking numbers for non-gun orders are usually sent around 10 PM in the evening.

Gun Orders

Please allow for an estimated 5-7 business days (excluding weekends and holidays) of processing time for all gun orders before they are ready for shipment.

Please allow for at least one day of processing time after your dealer has submitted a copy of their FFL to us.

Financed orders may have an additional 1-2 days of processing time while the loan documents are finalized.  Financed orders *will not* ship until we have been funded for your order by the financing company.

You will receive status updates and a notification via e-mail when your order has shipped.

Please note that firearm orders that are canceled more than 24 hours after the order was placed will be subject to up to a 6% processing/cancellation fee. Once an order has shipped out, cancellation is no longer possible, and the return process must be followed.

Your firearm will not ship until we have received a faxed or e-mailed copy of your local dealer's FFL license.

Accessories that are placed on the same order as firearms will ship directly to you, and will not ship with the firearm to your dealer.

NOTE: You do not need an FFL dealer to purchase ammunition online. Ammunition can be shipped to your door via UPS Ground and an adult signature will be required upon delivery. Ammunition cannot be shipped via air freight due to shipping regulations.

    Due to shipping regulations, all ammunition will be shipped via UPS Ground.
    All ammunition will require an adult signature upon delivery.
    For safety reasons, we cannot accept returns on ammunition.
    We only ship to the contiguous 48 states and to Alaska and Hawaii. Some restrictions may apply.
    We will not ship products to locations with legal restrictions on their ownership or possession.
    We are unable to ship to APO/FPO and USPS P.O. Boxes.

Non-Gun Return Policy

All non-gun returns must be made within 30 days of purchase. We will accept any returned items, with the exception of ammunition, gun safes, black powder, and air guns, for exchange or refund as long as the items are in new and original condition in the factory packaging. Scopes/optics may not be returned after they have been mounted on a firearm. For safety reasons, all ammunition is non-returnable and non-refundable.

Freight charges incurred while returning and/or exchanging items will be the responsibility of the customer, unless the return was due to an error on our part.

If an item has been used and is found to be defective, we will refer you to the manufacturer for repair/replacement under the manufacturer's warranty.

If you need to return an item, please contact us for a return form.

A 15% restocking fee may be assessed on all returned items, unless the return was due to an error on our part.

PLEASE NOTE: For returns where no error was made on the part of Hinterland Outfitters, customers are responsible for shipping the product back to us. The choice of the shipping carrier is entirely at the customer's discretion. Hinterland Outfitters is not responsible for any packages lost, misdelivered, or stolen during the return shipment process. This responsibility lies with the customer and their chosen shipping carrier. We would strongly suggest insuring the package with the carrier and/or requiring a signature for delivery to ensure that the return is received.

Firearm Return Policy

Please inspect all firearms thoroughly before you accept the transfer from your local dealer, and notify us immediately if there is a problem with your gun. Once you accept the transfer of the firearm, it is non-returnable and non-refundable to Hinterland Outfitters.

All firearm returns must be made within 7 days of delivery of the gun to your dealer, and the firearm must be unfired and in its new and original condition and packaging.

After you have accepted the transfer of the firearm from your dealer, defects and repairs will be covered by the manufacturer's warranty directly with the manufacturer of the firearm. If you need assistance in contacting the manufacturer or run into any issues with them, we will be glad to assist you in getting your issues resolved.

Freight charges incurred while returning and/or exchanging items will be the responsibility of the customer, unless the return was due to an error on our part. If you need to return a firearm, please contact us for a return authorization.

A 15% restocking fee may be assessed on all returned firearms, unless the return was due to an error on our part.  Including those returned because of a failed background check or if a dealer has concerns/issues (straw purchase, etc) transferring a firearm to you.
Special Order Firearm Return Policy

Special Order firearms are non-returnable, unless there is a manufacturer's defect in the firearm (in which case the above firearm return policy would apply).

Incorrect Listing/Description Error Policy

While we strive to provide accurate and up-to-date product listings, inadvertent errors may sometimes occur. We reserve the right to cancel an order and void the pending authorization due to an incorrect product listing.

If you received an incorrect accessory item due to an inadvertent error in the product description, title, or specifications (which may occasionally occur), we will take full responsibility for the error. You agree to return the item(s) to us with a pre-paid return shipping label that we will send via e-mail, and a full refund will be provided when the item has been returned. The firearm return policy listed above would apply to any firearm items.

Product Images

Product images are shown for example only and may represent a group of items; an image may not represent the item in its entirety. For instance, many firearm images may show a scope in the picture, but the firearm does not come included with a scope from the manufacturer and is shown as an example.

Coupon Codes

Coupon codes are not combinable or usable with other specials or on items that are already discounted.

Flat-Rate Shipping

We now offer flat-rate shipping on firearms, accessories and ammunition. Alaska and Hawaii may be excluded.

Firearm Only Orders:

$16.95 flat-rate shipping per firearm.

Accessory Only Orders:

$11.99 flat-rate shipping per order. Add as many accessories or as much ammo to your cart as you would like and the entire order will ship for just $11.99!

Firearm & Accessory Orders:

$16.95 per firearm on the order. An additional $11.99 shipping charge will be added to the order for accessories/ammunition. Add as many accessories or as much ammo to your order as you would like and the entire accessory/ammo portion of the order will ship for $11.99!*

**Please note that some very large orders of ammunition may have additional shipping cost assessed and may not qualify for the flat-rate shipping. We will contact you with an additional quote after the order is placed.

The shipping method used for the flat-rate option will be at our discretion. It will usually include:

*USPS Priority Mail or Parcel Post for Handguns
*UPS Ground for Long Guns
*UPS Ground or USPS for accessories and ammunition

Order Cancellation Policy

We invest time, energy, and money in every order as soon as your order is placed, and our automated processes begin immediately.

For this reason and since there is work involved internally with canceling an order, firearm, muzzleloader, lower/upper receivers, NFA Items, chassis systems, and optics (scopes, sights, etc) orders that are canceled more than 24 hours after being placed will be subject to a 6% Processing/Cancellation fee.

Please note that you *must email us or leave a voicemail* within 24 hours of placing your order if you wish to cancel without this agreed-upon order cancellation fee. Emails and voicemails can be sent 24/7 - there is no need to call and speak with an agent. Calling the business phone and hanging up without leaving a voicemail does not constitute an order cancellation request - you must email us or leave a voicemail to cancel within 24 hours to avoid the 6% cancellation fee.

Once an order has already been invoiced and submitted to the warehouse for processing, or already shipped out, cancellation may no longer possible, and the return process must be followed.

Canceled special orders and custom-built items (including gun safes, POF Rifles, JPE Rifles, AI Rifles, Wilson Combat pistols, Les Baer pistols, and any other special order items) may be subject to a 6% order cancellation fee after 24 hours. Lead times given for special orders and custom built items are estimates, and can vary based entirely upon conditions with the manufacturer.

We understand that sometimes you may need to cancel an order after it has been placed. However, due to the speed of our processing and shipping operations, it is often not possible to stop an order once it has entered the shipping process.

While tracking numbers are typically sent in the evening, your order may have already been shipped earlier in the day even if you haven’t received the tracking information or seen a status update. If we notify you that your order cannot be canceled because it has already shipped, please know that it truly has been shipped, and we are unable to retrieve it, stop it from going out, or cancel the order.

In such cases, you agree that you will follow our returns process if you wish to return the item. To avoid any inconvenience, please double-check your order details before completing your purchase to ensure you're confident about your selections. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation!
