A Guide to Purchasing Firearms Online
Hinterland Outfitters is a licensed FFL SOT Dealer. In accordance with Federal and State laws, we cannot ship a firearm to an individual or to a location that does not hold a FFL (Federal Firearms license). Firearms will only be shipped to another licensed gun dealer within the United States - this can be your local gun shop, pawn shop, sporting goods, etc.. The receiving FFL then handles your background check and the transfer of the firearm to you. Before ordering a firearm from our site, please make sure you are legally able to have the gun and the model/product is compliant for your state. Please know your local & state laws. We will not ship items that are not legal/compliant in your state.
Hinterland Outfitters sell firearms in accordance with ALL Federal, State and Local Laws
You must be 18 years old to purchase long guns, and 21 to purchase handguns, NFA firearms and Suppressors.
Buying your Firearm Online Steps:
Step 1. Choose your Firearm and Complete your Purchase
Hinterland Outfitters offers over 50,000 unique firearm SKU's from all of the brands. You can search for a product you're looking for using keyword, SKU's, UPCs, or browse via categories. Once you located a product(s) you wih to purchase, add them to your cart and proceed to checkout. You may create an account or checkout as a guest.
Step 2. Choose your FFL
As you proceed through checkout you will be prompted to select a dealer from our FFL Finder. Note: 'Verified FFL's' typically help streamline the process of an order often resulting is quicker shipping. *Important: You are REQUIRED to contact the local FFL to setup the transfer and let them no a firearm will be delivered on your behalf. We are not associated with ANY FFL so it's important to contact them verify any instore requirements and fees they will be charging. Typical FFL fees can range from $15-$75 dollars.
- Non-Verfied FFL's: If you select a dealer that's NOT a "verified FFL" you MUST contact the selected FFL dealer and request that they send a copy of their Federal Fireams License (FFL) to Hinterland Outfitters and reference your order #. Email: info@hinterlandoutfitters.com
- FFL Undecided: It's no issue at all placing an order without knowing what FFL you would like to utilize for the transfer. Once decided, you MUST contact the FFL dealer and request that they send a copy of their Federal Fireams License (FFL) to Hinterland Outfitters and reference your order #. Email: info@hinterlandoutfitters.com
Step 3. Pick up your Firearm
Once an order is processed and ready to ship, tracking information will be sent and your order will be updated. Please allow for up to 2-5 business days of processing time for a firearm order to be shipped. Please note that this is an estimated processing time - some orders may ship more quickly, and some orders may take a bit longer to process. Once your order has arrived to your dealer, you will contact your local dealer to arrange pickup and start the transfer process.
In order for the transfer to be approved, your FFL Dealer is required to have you fill out a 4473 and pass a background check through NICS. This is the identical background check you would complete if you purchased a firearm in any local gun store. Once the check is approved you take home the firearm!
IMPORTANT: No return will be accepted for any reason (including cosmetic issues, defects, missing items, incorrect items shipped, etc) once a firearm has been transferred to you by your FFL Dealer. ALWAYS inspect your firearm PRIOR to accepting the transer from your dealer. If there are any issues leave the firearm at your local FFL dealer and contact customer service.
