The premier rifle to have for whatever reason. This new designed non AR weapon is phenomenal. Battlefield tested and woods approved, I have an ACOG for optics and it is a quite impressive setup which will withstand the SCAR's internal recoil. Whitetails beware!

The rifle feels very solid to hold and fire. Every control on the rifle is easily accessible and works very well. Plenty of space for optics and anything else you want to hang off the weapon.
As posted on other reviews the recoil suppressor creates a fairly loud sound and you feel the concussion. Everyone around you will look around to see what your firing.
Takedown for cleaning could not be easier. I am a bit anal about cleanliness but it looks to me that this weapon would run dirty or clean. I have fired it with the pop up sights and was able to shoot pretty good groups at 100 and 200 yards.
With a 4X Elcan it is a perfect weapon. Now the bad news. It is almost impossible to get additional magazines for this weapon. I have been on the waiting list for over a year at FN trying to just buy a couple of magazines.
I have not tried the gun shows but checked at all local gun stores with no luck at all. I have no idea why they have not found another supplier of magazines for their weapons if they could not keep up with manufacturing demands. Overall the rifle is great but the support is a failure.

I have both the H and L versions of this weapon. Fantastic doesn't even come close to describing these bad boys. They will cycle any ammo you can find. I have yet to have an issue with either caliber and I don't clean my toys often.
They are loud and spit a flame in low light but recoil is nearly nonexistent. One word of warning, magazines for the H are very very hard to get and very expensive and only made by FN, or at least that was the case when I was looking for more mags a year ago.

This is the best gun on the planet. Brett was great, and I love the great service from Hinterland. This Scar 17 was hard to get but they can get them and the price was a good one. I tried everywhere online and you name it
If anyone had the rifle, which no one really did, they wanted scalper prices! I own a small arsenal, and this is my pick. It feels like it weighs 5 lbs even though it's almost 8. If they get another one, I'm buying it!
