Product Description

The FPB features Hornady's exclusive Flex Tip Technology. The Flex Tip creates a very streamlined and very durable meplat that maximizes exterior ballistics. A BC of .285 makes the FPB one of the most ballistically efficient full-diameter muzzleloader projectiles in the market. Upon impact the flexible elastomer tip compresses into the nose of the bullet, causing violent expansion across the widest range of velocities (800 to 2000+ feet per second) ever. This violent expansion creates a large temporary cavity, resulting in a very dynamic transfer of energy for quick kills and minimal tracking.

These bullets are the easiest muzzle loading bullet I've put down my 50 cal. Savage ML barrel and I have tried a bunch of them: TC, CVA, Buffalo bullets, Barnes, ETC. They are the most accurate and consistent shooting above all the rest that I have used. Knock down power has been from instant knock down to the most a fifty yard recovery with complete penetration and optimal damage - 1 to 1 1/2 inch groups at 100 yds. Great bullets - I highly recommend you give them a try and I think you'll be glad you did! The bullets group the same no matter if I use my Black Horn 209 powder or my IMR 4227 Smokeless powder which is great when hunting in different states that don't allow smokeless powder for ML Season. Do not use smokeless powder in any muzzleloader as it can cause severe damage to you and your gun! (Savage)-- Muzzleloaders are made for both - black powder and smokeless powder. Hunt hard, hunt safe, and have fun!
