I recently acquired a Kel-Tec PF-9 from a friend. He had purchased this gun for his wife as a self defense weapon but she had severe carpal tunnel and the kickback was too much for her. Personally I found very little recoil in this handgun and found it to be quite accurate. That being said I do have a complaint with the gun itself. After trying several different brands of ammo in the gun I have found it consistently jams up and has to be cleared. Online forums state that after firing around 300-400 rounds through this gun the problem clears up. I find this unacceptable. To have to run $150 plus of ammo through a gun just to make it work properly is not something you should have to do. I know all firearms have a break in period to them but 300 rounds? I would not recommend this gun to some one looking for an inexpensive 9mm for that reason. The gun does feel good in a smaller hand and is very accurate so I am rating it at 3 stars. If you go to the range a lot and can take the time to run through enough ammo to clear up the jamming problem then this gun would be an acceptable personal protection firearm.
