I have shot the M77 in 22-250 which was offered in a Walnut stock. My brother in law purchased one several years ago. The Ruger M77 with 4-8x20 scope was drilling quarter size groups at 100 yards. Love the action, recoil was non-existent. Extremely fun to shoot. The M77 MKII Hawkeye is the NEW offering from Ruger with the BBL. My only regret and hesitation in buying my own is the stock options. Laminates, plastic stocks do not impress me. I personally believe that a quality gun like the Ruger M77 should include a quality stock.
Shoot the 22-250 and you will LOVE it.
