Rifle received in perfect condition.

Upon closer inspection, it was found that there was a slight "wobble" in the stock to receiver fit. A little touchup with sandpaper (to remove stock casting flaws) and everything went together tightly. Haven't found the need to bed the stock/receiver.

Trigger pull, as delivered, broke at 4.5#, which is considerably better than the standard 8#+ I experienced with the standard carbine trigger group.

Dropping in the Kidd replacement trigger/sear further reduced the pull to 1#12oz. and a very clean break. Also installed the Kidd bolt handle and the bolt release kit. All very worthwhile and affordable upgrades.

Have the extended magazine release ordered from Kidd for both the target rifle and the carbine.

Mounted a Nikon Prostaff 4x12 power scope on the rifle. Found the rifle to be extremely accurate right out of the box. First outing produced 3/4" groups at 50 yds.shooting from a sandbag rest.

Will do considerably better with better rests. Now have a 6x24 power scope mounted and waiting to head to the range. Upgraded the scope base to the Power Custom version which is a significant upgrade to the ruger standard base.

Stainless steel bull barrel gives the rifle considerable "heft". Muzzle heavy, but useful for a target rifle.

Overall, I give the rifle an excellent rating. Great option for the guy looking for a "semi-custom" version, but not wanting to go thru a complete build.
