Submitted my order online for the Savage model 110 FCP 338 Lapua mag. Hinterland Outfitters was available to answer any of my questions by phone and gave prompt email updates on receiving the FFL dealer information, and also on shipping only three days after I placed my order. The email included the serial number of my rifle which I thought was awesome. I also received an email from UPS on the shipping so I could track the package, and was able to know when it was delivered to the FFL. My rifle arrived in 7 days from the date of purchase and everything was in order. Will write another review, once I test out my new rifle. I would purchase from Hinterland Outfitters again with no worries!

Ordered Savage 110 FCP in 338 Lapua. Order was shipped in 3 days and arrived at FFL in 2 days. 5 business day order to delivery! Communications with Hinterland were exceptional. This is my 2nd purchase from Hinterland and their service is first rate. Test fired 20 rounds, 15 S&B and 5 Lapua. The fit and finish of rifle was excellent and no issues with stuck cases or ejection issues. Spent cases easily refeed and bolt closed easily, so no expansion of brass issues. 5 rounds to sight in, on second string 2 shots at 1/3 MOA third enlarged group to roughly 1 MOA. 3rd set of 5 were Lapua 300 gr. Group opened up some. 3rd group was 250g 5 shot, 2 shots in same hole, over all group about 1.1 MOA. The recoil showed how good the muzzle break is, no more recoil felt than a 308, no sharp peak, more a steady push. Have a Remington 700P in 300 WM, it kicks more and the Savage is laid out better. The controlled recoil reduced tendency to flinch. Once the barrel is broken in I expect this to be a 3/4 or less MOA rifle. Savage has sold me, what a great deal and Hinterland is now my first choice in Firearm acquisition.

This was a very good value for my money. The firearm is great - recoil is like a .308. The firearm was setup very quickly .I am very pleased with the SAVAGE 110 FCP HS. The sales staff at Hinterland was very helpful.

The five stars go to Hinterland for great service, quick shipping, and having it in stock when no one else did. The only complaint with the rifle, and it is very small complaint - is the scope rail became loose after a few shots. All you have to do is put some thread lock on the screws before first use and problem is solved. I only mention it so others can save the hassle of taking their scope on and off. Rifle is great, 200 yard is same hole with some tweaking of custom ammo. 600 yards is 6 inches with bench rest. Good scope is necessary as the muzzle blast and recoil will destroy a cheap scope.

I purchased the rifle in the morning, one hour later my FFL sent them the required info, and two hours later it was shipped! How can you improve on that! These folks get my firearm purchases from now on. The rifle arrived in perfect shape. Great price when no one else had one. Great customer service! Thank you!

Follow up review. After coaxing Savage to cooperate a little, and finally replacing the factory aluminium E, I changed the picatinny rail to a M P machined stainless steel rail and the rifle was now ready to roll. It printed a 1 1/4" group at 300yards (sub 1/2 MOA) with a developed handload of a 300grain VLD Hybrid- N170 powder-Lapua cases- and 215M primers. Granted, the rifle only had the break-in rounds sent through previously, current velocities and powder charge will be increased and I suspect the group will close in even more. Very light for a 338 Lapua but so is my SAKO TRG. This platform is definitely a keeper.

Just took delivery of the rifle. Fit and finish were superb. However, just a minor detail. The scope rail appeared to be 'floating' over the action. Once removed and re-installed, the rail fit perfectly onto the action with no other apparent issues. The Badger O rings and Sightron scope installed fine. Have not evaluated its performance yet. Will generate another review at a later date. As for the staff at Hinterland, they continue to go above and beyond to satisfy their customers, this is my 3rd rifle purchase from them and there will be future purchases. I give the rifle 4 1/2 stars due to the oversight of the improperly installed rail on Savage's end but 5 go to Hinterland for their continued service.
