With all the gear we find ourselves carrying into the field today it is nice to shed a couple pounds. This lightweight over/under won't break your back or the bank. Weighing in at just 6 lbs., the Upland Ultralight is a full 2 lbs. lighter than similar steel-framed model thanks to an aluminum alloy frame. The metal is coated with a non-reflective, weather-resistant matte finish and the stock is sport-styled.

I just wanted to update my review. I shot a round of trap and had a couple of problems but they may have been of my making. I had 2 misfires. I heard the firing pin fall but no boom. I may not have broken the gun far enough to re set the firing pin as the shell did not auto eject. The action is very tight (a good thing) so until the gun is broken inn it requires a firm hand. Also on 2 other occasions when closing the action after expending a shell the action would not close unless I pushed the action lock to the right. This again could have been because I didn't get the action open far enough when ejecting the shell. However the shell auto ejected and the next shot went off indicating the firing pin had been re set. It was my 1st time shooting this year and I only shot a 19 but the gun swung well with good follow thru. I attribute the 19 to the issues I had and only 3 people on the firing line causing a hurried performance. I'll write again after my next outing. I'll downgrade to 3 stars for now. If the issues remain, we will have to wait and see.

Just received my new shotgun. I haven't had time to shoot it yet but it looks good and quality looks good. Fit and finish good-moving parts nice and snug. Wood grain is very nice for a gun at this price-much better than Stevens or most other guns priced under $1,000. It is about 10 days to 2 weeks from the date of order but had to get the FFL dealer's license and fax it to Hinterland. Not having shot it yet I'll have to give 4 stars. Comes with a red/orange glass like front sight so I'm not sure about how I will like that. I had a center sight bead put on for trap shooting. It seems to get lost in the red glow of the front sight so I may have to change that to suit me. I didn't pull the trigger so can't comment on that but it's supposed to be just over 5lb so it should be good. The price went down $43.00 since I ordered so not sure if it is a sale or what. A local dealer wanted over $1,000.00 for same gun. More than the list price! If I can I'll add more after I use it.
