More About Magnum Research Eagle Pistols
The Magnum Research MR Eagle Series has integrated the German technology from Walther. This MR Eagle series has become a joint American and German effort to create the special features and integrated precision parts for this particular series from Magnum Research. From the United States, a 416 stainless steel slide and a 4140 CrMo steel barrel is machined and assembled. The black polymer frames, with integral steel rails, are imported from Walther in Germany. The 9mm and the .40 S&W are the two popular calibers available for the MR Eagle's striker fire design. For windage purposes, Magnum Research has included a fully adjustable rear sight. For the various hand sizes and the different shooting styles of many shooters, the MR Eagle series has three replaceable palm swells. These different palm swells come in three different sizes: small, medium, and large. By removing the roll pin at the heel of the grip, these palm swells can be quickly exchanged, allowing the shooter to easily alter the grip frame profile for a better fit. The front sight blades are interchangeable for different heights. The MRI MR Eagle series other features include a hammer-forged barrel, a full Weaver-style accessory rail, and internal safety devices.
All in all, the Magnum Research MR Eagle is an evolution of the Walther semi-automatic pistol. The stainless steel slide design is meant to create the specific look of the flagship pistol from Magnum Research, the Desert Eagle. The MR Eagle series has a Double Action / Single Action (DA/SA) striker-fired gun which features a quick action mode. This mode allows the pistol to be placed in the Single Action mode without an exposed hammer.
