EXCELLENT coyote round. In one area I hunt, unfortunately it's very thick & choked by the underbrush, so even when I'm hunting from an elevated position I rarely have an unobstructed shot path...
In all the shots taken at that property, it seems I have to shoot through brush at a coyote if it presents me with a shot.
I have a Weaver Scope w/ a German #4 reticle with a tiny pin sized illuminated red dot @ center of the reticle in 2.5×10×56mm with 30 mm tube on my AR-15.
It's sighted in @ dead on @ 30yds. allowing this Barnes Range Ammo, 90grain bullet to be dead on @ 200 yds once again as well.
The bullet is almost 2500fps out of my 16" spiral-fluted heavy barrel at muzzle + 5' where the chrono was sitting. It's the fastest, most ACCURATE, hardest hitting .300 Blackout bullet I've been able to shoot.
Folks Barnes makes a really good product whether it's the TSX 110 grain tipped bullet in this caliber or whether it's the at 4 mentioned 9A green range bullet that we're talking about here. Consistently produces better groups than any other manufacturer I have I have shot every single load and manufacturer available and every single bullet that 1 good use in this caliber Ivor I loaded it to normal specs and this is the best by far I had the privilege of using for varmints/whitetail deer.
I prefer the copper solid, Barnes X Bullet to this 90gr. Barnes Range Bullet on deer... only because of penetration after impact. This bullets dumps it kinetic energy into a live target within 6" or so on average. I tested this bullet & others using 10% ballistics gel in a 10"×10"×30" (even D.I.Y. it's expensive to use) block.
There's a massive transfer of energy from 3.0" to 10.0" inches and the cavity it leaves is phenomenal.
If you want a factory fast as you can get & a VERY accurate .300 Blackout...this is your ammo right here...
A coyote hit by this projectile is immediately incapacitated upon impact of it. I think other caliber rifles are a better choice for general use but at 100 yard in thick brush... this Barnes Range 90gr bullet & the X Bullet are the ultimate providers of 4-legged pregnacy prevention policy on predator populations
