Barnes VOR-TX is precision ammunition loaded with TSX, Tipped TSX or TSX FN bullets to offer double-diameter expansion, maximum weight retention and excellent accuracy. The TSX bullets provide maximum tissue and bone destruction, pass-through penetration and devastating energy transfer. Multiple grooves in the bullet's shank reduce pressure and improve accuracy. Bullets open instantly on contact - no other bullet expands as quickly. Nose peels back into four sharp-edged copper petals destroying tissue, bone and vital organs for a quick, humane kill. Whether you're after whitetail deer, elk, antelope or boar, put 'em in the VOR-TX and they're going down.

This is an updated review of my initial impressions in 2011. The Barnes VorTx is the real deal. I have killed multiple deer, hogs and sheep with this ammo. Not one has so much as taken a step. Hit them all in the front shoulder and it's like a light switch is turned off. All DRT The first doe I shot with this ammo was hit just behind the shoulder and the entire chest cavity was like soup. Just vaporized. My 12yo so has also shot a few sheep with this ammo in his Rem 700 25-06 and they all dropped as well.
Barnes VorTx is my go to ammo for all my rifles now. High quality, good prices, super accurate. What more could you want.

I wanted some premium ammo for my new 25-06. It came down to Hornady Custom, Nosler Partitions and Barnes Vor-Tx. After shooting 10 rounds of each it was obvious that my gun liked the Barnes the best. This stuff grouped fantastic off the bench, easiliy the best of the three.
I could have covered the group with a 50 cent piece. I shot it again this weekend and it was just as good as before. I had a 3 shot string in a 15mph crosswind and the group was just under 1". I'll take that all day long.
I have not had a chance to use it on any deer yet, but my guess is that it's going to be devastating as advertised. With ammo this good, I can't really see a reason to roll my own. Based on what I've seen so far, I'm a Barnes believer and will be buying more.
