The JPSA-9 Upper comes with the 9 mm caliber. Upper is also offered with many 16 inch chrome moly barrel configurations. Please see order form for full optional upgrades.
I had to have one—so do you. Who doesn’t want a 9mm upper assembly for their AR-15 lower? It shoots less expensive 9mm ammo, has extremely fast sight recovery and delivers rifle-level accuracy out to 100 yards. Get the whole package with the upper, magazine conversion block, Lula loader (because those 9mm mags are a you-know-what to load by hand) and several 32-round magazines. We priced it as separate items in case you already have some of these parts. Did you know that most standard .223/5.56 mag pouches will hold two 32-round 9mm mags? Now you do. Convert your lower with the mag block in about 30 seconds and you’re in business
Set up the lower with an AR-10-type recoil spring and full mass buffer if you have a rifle length stock or get the special 9mm extra mass buffer if you have a carbine stock system. The extra spring rate is the key to a blow back system that has super fast sight recovery and minimal recoil. It makes a night and day difference on a 9mm blow back platform! For practice or matches inside 100 yards, this is a tough setup to beat. Accuracy with high-quality ammo is about 2 MOA at 100 yards—very impressive! With some of my hand loads, I’ve shot groups in the 1 ” range at 50 yards. I can’t wait to enter a 9mm benchrest match! OK, maybe not.
A 9mm upper is also an excellent home defense carbine with impressive ballistics out of the longer barrel (similar to .357 magnum) without the over-penetration issues of most rifle cartridges, not to mention the lack of concussion in enclosed spaces. The standard barrel length will be a threaded 16”. However, we will offer a 14” version with a permanently installed comp for a legal 16” overall length. For those of you with an SBR lower, a 10” barrel is a very handy setup that still delivers much higher velocity than pistol barrels. Don’t forget, JP Enterprises, Inc. can build a short-barreled rifle (SBR) for you too!
