The Kershaw Blur is one fine piece of American hardware. With the latest and greatest knife steel to be found, which is S30V, this knife comes sharp out of the box and stays sharp a very long time. And with a free sharpening policy and a lifetime warranty Kershaw really stands behind their products. You can find more expensive knives and some of them are worth more because of a custom design and solid construction but it is unlikely you will find any knife that will work substantially better than the Kershaw Blur. You can make it much sharper than it comes or you can enjoy the rugged and sharp edge it has right out of the box and it will stay that way for a very long time. Of course any heavily used knife will need sharpening often and that's where this Onion designed knife really shines. Other steels may actually hold an edge a little better but it will be far harder to put an edge on those knives. The Blur with S30V will sharpen easy compared to knives with S60V and some of the other latest and greatest steels. Then there's the opening system. This knife opens "fast" with one hand. The SpeedSafe assisted opening system gets your knife ready to work in short order and it locks into place securely for those tough jobs. I would never take a chance on any knife holding open because I grew up with knives that didn't lock open plus it's just not a good idea. But this knife feels very secure to me. Maybe the best part of the knife is the anodized aluminum handle. It will give you a solid grip even if the knife is wet. The Trac-Tec inserts give you complete control over the knife but again no knife this sharp should be taken lightly. As always it's wise to be safe with a knife of any kind. In short this knife will make you happy especially as an every day carry knife. It might be a little big for some to carry in their pocket but the reversible pocket clip solves a lot of that problem. The knife seems to take up far less space when the clip is used. And Kershaw makes other great knives for anyone wanting a smaller EDC knife. But personally I like having a larger folding knife in my pocket. I know it will be up to tasks that will make smaller knives struggle. And the reversible clip allows for carrying with the blade pointing up or down. That's sure to please almost everyone. There is very little about the Blur that I don't like. My only complaint was that the studs for opening the knife are a little sharp on the edge which can dig into your skin if you don't have the knife clipped. Mostly this is just a great knife and it's a 100% USA made knife too.
